Hey guys. I recently tried to install climate control in my EL.
All parts came from an EF, Control module, solenoid block, fan speed controller. It has failed miserably. I have four error codes. E2 Blend door motor E6 Evap sensor E7 Engine temp E8 EEC data line fault I have no idea how I managed to balls this up so badly. I haved conductivity on the EEC data line which is good but some how has shorted as my temp guage does not work anymore. The Evap sensor I wired back into the stock loom though I have not checked conductivity. As for the blend door motor that part off the loom remained untouched. I have spent the better part of the long weekend looking over the wiring diagrams and have come up with squat. So.... is it possible to get a EL fairmont dash loom and BCM, and have all the EF climate stuff plug in. I have searched the site and cant seem to find anything conclusive. Thanks guys |

I've done around 5 conversions, and even I wouldn't even bother without the dash loom.
adding wires is a nightmare. first off, have you taken the right data wire from the cluster? theres 2 blue wires and nearly everyone grabs the wrong one. Yes, get an entire EL fairmont dash loom with BEM, and remove the dimming resistor on your cluster. Providing you use an EF CC module and coil pack combined, there should be no issue with the 2 models.

When you say coil pack is this to say that I have to convert the ignition system to run coil pack instead of the distributor in order to get the CC module to work? |

my mistake, "vacuum solenoid pack"

Niice, Cheers dude. I though I was way over my head, I couldn't see the connection.
Just one more question, this one is not so silly. With the EEC data line from the cluster do you cut that and take it or just "patch" into it? I'm fairly sure I have the right data wire as my temp gauge has stoped working |
