hi guys i have a 2003 ba xr8 that i have had sitting the my shed only drive it on the weekends when the wetxher is good so being in ballarat thats not very often lol any way i notested a mouse smell in the shed and droppings all in the engine bay on the xr..time for a wash i give it a wash down with it running tryed to keep the water from all the spots ya ment to and all was good run it for a good road test one hour let it sit for 2 hours went to start it and it idol rough and missing put my foot on the go pedal and no increass in revs turned in off checked all electrical plugs for water still no good put a scan tool on and it gave me fault codes p0221 tp2-ps fails # p1270 engine rpm #3 p2110 throttle actuator control system #4p2135 throttle position sensor 1&2 cleared the codes and start it and there all back again. not sure why it just went crazy water maybe???? or mouse chewed a wire??

well as it says. tps fail. the Throttle Position Sensor on the butterflys musthave gotten wet or somthin and has created a short or damaged them.
cleaning required or possible replacement.

I tried cleaning the tps still shooting fault codes so decided to replace it so down to the local ford dealer and pick one up it was the upgraded type installed it hit the key and now she's singing that you for the help I was worried it would never go lol all good now just got to jeep the mice out
