Just looking at getting a fusion 12'' sub that is 1000w and a fusion amp that is 350w.
Would the amp be enough to power the sub and would it be best to wire the speakers up to it also?

Please help me if you know..

Thanks

Youd be better off with a much bigger amp, so your not overdriving it constantly

What's the model number for the sub and amp? I assume 12" sub at 1000W is MAX not RMS. Check the RMS wattage value not the max.

I hazard at guess at 400W RMS with a 350W RMS amp should be fine assuming it's a mono block. You won't get the most out of the sub, but it will still run without damaging the sub. In saying that, the amp may get hot when you run it at max all the time.

Always a good idea to get a GOOD amp and s**t speakers, remember it's the power house for the speakers, so if they are s**t, so will the sound coming out of the speakers. If you have a s**t amp and run expensive speakers, it will still sound s**t. However run good amp with s**t speakers, and the sound is still a good upgrade from stock (most of the time).

Anyways, more information on the gear would would give everyone here a better idea. We can't read minds and thus can't help you out much.

This is the sub,

And this is the amp,
http://www.fusionelectronics.com/car/pr ... -Amplifier

Would they work together or would it be best to go up to the next amp which is the 650w?..

From the specs, the sub has only a RMS value of 250W while the amp has a 175W bridged at 4 Ohms. This means the sub is under powered while the amp is running at max...which can cause heat problems.

If you get the next model up (650W as they put it), there will be enough nominal wattage to power the sub. The RMS value for the "650W" amp is 340W @ 4ohm bridged. This means you can overpower the sub, but this can be controlled by setting the gain level down so that the amp doesn't run at max capacity and therefore you'll have a cooler running amp while getting most out of the sub (assuming you tune it right). So your best bet is to spend the extra money and get the model up.

Also the specifications doesn't say at what voltage level the amp was running at to produce the above claimed wattage.

In saying all of the above, I personally wouldn't buy those, but I guess if you're strapped for cash, it isn't too bad.
