The guy I bought it off has written on the add t5 conversion to suit ford ea-au I talked on the phone to him and he said he modified the pedal box to fit the Ef he had it in so it should fit the au as for the length Of the gearbox he didn't say anything but he assures me it will fit in my au I think he said it's out of a ea but seems reluctant to tell me exactly what model car it's from Im not sure if he even knows :-/ off ebay? i seen that. told him it won't suit a AU. he called me a moron and said it would and i don't know what i'm talking about

Any ideas anyone?? |

i wouldn't be drilling hole's in the floor. you will more than likely need to have it engineered for rego (don't quote me on that). look around for au-ba box that will bolt upto the original cross member mounts

I work in an engineering shop what i'll do is make a 1/4" plate and weld it to the crossmember then put 2 1/4 packers beyween the floor and the cross membr so the plate sits at the right hight then ill just drill a new hole 50mm forward for the manual box to fit straight in that should work.

The shifter will be in the ashtray for 1st, 3rd and 5th gears. Also, the centre console will have to go in the bin to use the box. Sell the conversion to someone with an E Series mante!

Is the 50mm difference in length between the au and the e series t5 the actual gearbox a different length or is it the bell housing?

As others have said mate, nothing is the same, it wont fit your car, sell it, cut your losses and get an AU or early BA T5, the right pedal box, and start again.
