Faults that are intermittent are hard to track down at the best of times. I assume the engine still ran normally while this was happening - were there any harsh bumps when this happened ?? . This seems reminiscent of a cct breaker thing - opens the circuit, then closes again. The common component to exterior lighting is the Ignition fusible link in the engine bay which is 60A - this is for GLI/Futura/F/mont/Ghia - Fairlanes may be different. The headlights run a 30A cct breaker, but since your park lts went out as well, which are on a separate fuse - the fusible link is the best item to check as explained previously. Pull it out and push back in to settle the contact - wiggle the underneath wires as well, might be something loose. If you've done some dash mods, might be wise to check the light switch connector, and the steering column connectors as well. The headlight cct breaker should be okay, but if you're not happy with it, you could swap it round with the power window cct breaker, as they're both 30A. There's no guarantee that this won't reoccur, but this is about all I can suggest - continue driving and see what happens . . . . .
