Hi,

So I have been searching, and have come across this forum, and I'm hoping someone can help.

EL Falcon Sedan

I had the car unlocked, I was changing the tyre due to a flat, after I had finished, I realised I had shut the boot with my keys in there, but with the car still unlocked.

Long story short:

Boot release button doesn't work without keys in ignition,

Gas tank does not allow access to the boot.

RACV came, spent an hour trying, didn't get anywhere.

Caught the train home.

Spare key exists, but is about 3 days away.

I left the car unlocked, do I have any other options?

I was thinking, would it work if I took the switch out of the dash, and applied 12V directly? Question here is, is the ignition cut out for this switch before or after it?

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

take out the interior light fuse then continously press the boot release button while just touching and removing the interior light fuse on it's posts. this is a RACV trick i learnt while i worked for them. the fuse sparks and the boot will pop

I got in!

WILDEB thank you! worked a treat, was a bit skeptical at first, thought I might not be able to find the right fuse, or do it right,

Worked first try!

no worries mate. old RACV trick. the EF/L boot switch times out after 5 mins or something. EA/D has constant power
