Yeah, if its an Aug 98 build, it would have to be one of the very very very last EL's ever produced, and would have pretty much a complete AU motor.

Lift the belt cover and check the model code on the head. 96DT or WR2Axxxxx is AU, and you'll need the appropriate cam. 94DT or 95DT is EF/EL.


dont forget the most common, which is 94AB

He says its a Ghia/Tickford. No 94AB's there. :wink:

Hmm got me interested in looking into if my el has an au head or not, forgot to mention that it has a tickford engine and driveline which is the same or simular to an el xr6 (guessing). Thanks for input guys will look into it and update you guys on wat i find out, cheers.

If it's aug 98 it woukd most Definatly have the Au head.

either way wade cams do the same e series equivilant cams for the el hybrid and au..

Haha naa i was saying il look into it cause i wasnt sure if i have the au head or not lol because i have a au head will a 1636 fit in mine or get a different one thats the same as a 1636 but for an au head? Anyone tell me the name or number of the cam??

Talk to wade cams about it, it will have the same profile as a 1636 but will be a different name , basically the same cam but ones for Au and the other is for e series 8-)

Hey Gezza, cams going good. Got a J3 chip just a couple of days ago, has fixed the idle and the running rich issue.
I haven't had a chance to thrash her to see how she goes with the chip yet, but I'm happy as mate. :mrgreen:

Hey guys found out its a jan 98 build and the head number shows 95DT? So would be guessing its a ef/el head not an au
