Just do what I did with our EA,
take your boot garnish, remove the badges and sand where they were with 60 grit sandpaper getting right down into the edges as far as possible
Mix some bog and fill the badge holes, wait for it to set up and then sand away with a sanding block and some 320 grit sandpaper.....you might have to refill any low spots with some more bog but that's normal.
Once you think it's smooth enough spray it with some primer surfacer and let dry and start sanding again with your sanding block and some 400 grit paper working across the whole panel, after each sand blow excess dust off with an airhose
Spray it with some more primer and let dry and check your work for smoothness.
Fill any small pinholes or low spots with some blade putty and sand again.
Once finished sanding spray once more with primer and let dry overnight.
Sand the following day lightly with 400 again and wipe down with prepwash and spray your choice of colour..................just remember preparation is everything, spraying is the easy part

we used 2part bumper epoxy to fill ours as it bites in to the plastic
the stuff the panel-beaters use to repair modern bumpers

don't know we just took ours to our local panel beater told him what we wanted and he filled
we had already removed the badges and sanded out the groove around the reverse lights and number plate for a true smooth rear garnish
