I have cut out switches for Fuel pump, injectors & coils, I have a relay so I can cut the feed power to them, then run switches to the relay, that way you won't have heavy current running through a switch.
You can even get fancy and run more than one switch in-line, so for example, you can have 3 switches that need to be in the right on/off combo for it to work, sort of like a simple combo lock. If you really want to get fancy, you can black wire everything, the thief then needs to bring a multimeter to figure out what's what. |

I've always had the idea to allow the theif to steal the car as easy as possible, so it isnt damaged too much in the process, but set them up for a failure a few minutes down the road.
Something like a silent alarm with a timer to shut off the fuel pump, kill the ECU, whatever. I'm sure if they were driving in traffic and the car suddenly stopped, they wouldnt be hanging aroun dwaiting for RACV to come and help them. An SMS sat tracking system is obvioulsy required so you are alerted remotely when the car is stolen, and so you can find your car. |

There was a commodore here locally that had GPS tracking in...
The lady was always getting polite calls from the tracker company to notify her the car had gone flat... Must have chewed a substantial amount of juice... Not a bad idea there MAD... The thing the young blokes do here is steel the car... Drive it out the river and set it alight... So they would do less damage trying to steel it than if the actually steel it... But if it stops down the main street then yeah you might get it back OK... If it stops down a back street then they'll probably set it alight... Hard to stop against all types of crims and all types of scenarios... Cheers, Tim
