Hi i purchased a 24 mm rear sway to fit to my ef fairmont. i tried fitting it lastnight but the old sway bar brackets dont fit over the new rubbers due to the size difference old one is 19mm. has anyone made this change before and if so how did you fit new bar? as in were you able to find an aftermarket bracket or did you make your own? any comments would be helpfull. thanks.

the bracket is the same for all size sway bars, its the bushes that change..
the bush is ment to be a firm to tight fit into the bracket... |

i tried using the old brackets it squashes the crap out of the bush so that it doesnt line up any more. the bracket doesnt line up.

Yes - I think that's wrong bushes - had the same thing happen the other way - got new "correct" bushes from Pedders - ie. clearly told them the size of the bar - but the ones I was given were evidently too large. It turned out the incorrect bushes were in the packet.

you were right it was the bushes by the looks of it the sway bar they supplied must be a sort of universal one so the bushes were the wrong ones. thaks for the help its much appreciated.

Sounds like someone may have gotten EL bushes for an EF bracket.
Hence the no fit. |

Anything's possible - in my case the bag was definitely labelled as 24mm but the bushes inside were 27mm...
