Can it be done?
As far as I'm aware you can put a AU (V8) power steer pump on a E series V8. All you need to use the AU bracket? Is the e series air-con compressor compatible with the AU bracket? Just need confirmation Cheers

It can be done by using spacers between the AU bracket and E-series head so that the set-back remains correct. But you also need a new PS pressure hose and the E-series A/C pump doesn't bolt up correctly.
So if you are just looking to replace a non-functional C2 pump, it would probably be better to repair the one you have

Best way to do it is run the complete front dress, alternator etc, and use an AU balancer and water pump aswell. Then do the custom p/s steer hose and modify alternator wiring.

You should be able to get a recon E-Series pump for around $300 if you hunt around. Even try suspension and steering workshops.
I bought one from SA Suspension, I didn't expect them to do them but they had them sitting on the shelf. |

It would be so easy to get done if money was just another worthless object...but its not so Im looking at all my options. I have access to a AU pump, a/c compressor and AU bracket. Im also looking into rebuilding the ps pump I have.
Today Ill be finding out exactly where the leak is coming from and go from there. Thanks for all the info.
