i want to do a manual conversion on my ef xr6 and as the title states, what do i need?
i know i need a gearbox and pedal box (duh) and ECU (will EL XR6 ECU work?)
what else do i need? the car is going to get done by a mechanic, i just want to get all the parts myself

You cannot use an EL ECU, has to be an EF ECU, EF needs the coil pack control, el was dizzy. gear box with e series bell housing and all associated bits, clutch cable, you can either use a J3 chip on the EF ECU or do the resister trick, plenty of info on the resister trick on this site if you have a quick search around.

Get yourself a Mal Wood pin rather than the pedal box, it saves having to pull the dash out.

Old thread i thought i would bring back.

Im doing a conversion with my car to manual and dont really want to pull the dash out what is the Malwood pin? Could someone post a pic if they have one and how much did it cost them?

2 pictures half way down. Pretty much shows you what it is. The pin will be located to the left of the pedal box where there is a hole in the pedal box frame. You can't miss it. New updated Malwood pin design comes with a large metal plate to strengthen the box because some people have had the pedal box break/crack.
