Check out EVL098 's build thread as he put a 5.0 into a Ford Maverick/Nissan Patrol and just bought a wiring harness from the US for it.

Yepwhile I still havent got it running yet as I am changing quite a bit of stuff around and other things are getting in the way I can definately recommend the RJM injector tech wiring harness for it.
This is the harness I bought. http://rjminjectiontech.com/collections ... al-harness If you go this way I think there would be a couple of us on here that would like to get the EGR eliminator bought in with the same order and get it sent down if you were willing to assist.

Ive just put the NC 5.0 into my XF, and I think Castle Auto sell a Loom for 5.0 into anything (extortionate pricing).
I went full house - 4 speed auto, full NC Harness/Cluster etc. Some loom mods but runs an absolute treat now. Feels quicker than my XR8 as well. Could also be the complete lack of safety equipment in the xf sedan . If your just doing the engine/Manual, you should be able to get away with the ECU Harness, a couple of additional wires (Fuel pump comes to mind), and possibly a smartlock emulator or J3 chip to get rid of smartlock. That with your cortina harness should nearly have a car that runs. Of course Pete might have a pile of better ideas too. My car didnt have smartlock, but I put the BEM in anyway as I wanted all the other controls. Nigel |

I'm planning on dropping a EF/EL 5.0 into my 83 Thunderbird along with the local EEC, i'm just going to use the loom from the car i'm getting the motor from, work out what can be deleted between the EEC loom and Firewall loom, then work out what signals i need to supply to get it running.
with a decent workshop manual it shouldn't be too difficult. slap in a J3 to bypass Smartlock and tweak away at the tune. I'm keeping the AOD 4 speed auto in it so i don't really need the extra bits. a bit more difficult then buying a premade loom, but a hell of a lot cheaper.

For the NC/DC (and EB I assume) the Loom for the EEC was pretty much stand alone - that is, it came out completely seperate. There is about 8 pins going to the Dash wiring (Speedo etc), plus in my case a single connector under the brake booster which looks like trans control and fuel pump etc.
The EEC Power and EEC Relays were part of the EEC Harness, not the engine bay harness so easy to change around. Nigel |

guess it depends how far you want to go.
EB loom might be an option for me

I modified and fitted the NCII loom to the Maverick originally when I did the conversion and its not hard at all.
But the end result is rubbish. Playing with close to 20 year old wiring that wasnt the greatest in the first place and sorting it out just turns into a f**k trying to keep it reliable in the end. There are a stack of soldered joins in the factory harness that work fine until they are disturbed. If you get it from the right place the aftermarket harness in all honestly isnt expensive and its a thousand times better end result.
