Hey guys

Saw this part on a BA engine that was at pick a part its like two electronic connecters to the cam gears... Wasn't sure what it was for I'm sure someone here could tell me what it is :D

They'd be the VCT cam phaser connections wouldn't they??

Oil control valves for the VCT phasers. The VCT phasers themselves are the cam gears.

Basically a 3 way valve with an oil supply from sump line, oil supply to the phaser (to advance the cam) and an oil dump line back to the sump (to retard the cam).

My best guess was that it had something to do with electronically advancing or retarding the cams...
