I am trying to find the coolant temp sensor (for the dash) in the engine bay
and cannot find one..

I see the one on the thermostat housing but thats for the ecu I am sure..

My temp gauge sits just above the big C and never moves when driving, of course it drops down when the car is off..I have checked my ellery's manual and can't find the location either..

in ef and el the temp sensor for the ecu is also the sensor for the dash...

Thanks for the reply, so apart from replacing that sender how can I test the gauge? Do I need a multimeter? Is there a way to test without one? Thanks again..

Update- Just replaced the temp sensor with new one $40 from autobarn and although the original one was quite black and grubby the new one hasn't made any difference to the gauge on the dash so
I suspect the gauge is the culprit..

Put the dash into diagnostic mode, will give you the coolant temp reading in degrees.
