hi guys..... i just had my BA XR6 Turbo dyno'd and got a 235 rw kw run, i have intercooler , cold air intake. and just getting injectors and fuel pump upgrade coz we couldnt get anymore out of it on the dyno due to running out of fuel. but am looking at a turbo upgrade now aswell. so my question is what turbo is recommended and how much am i going to be outlaying.......

$6k could get you a GT42 on a proper manifold with a good gate and everything else you need.
Unless you want more than 400rwkw you should probably upgrade your ebay cooler and everything else first. |

ok. so is there much point in upgrading my turbo coz i only wanna crack the 300 - 350 rwkw and ill be happy, just not sure if the turbo is worth doing

The stock turbo can make up to around 420.
Fit a proper cooler and do your supporting mods then get a retune. You might need to enlarge the flapper and put a stronger actuator on but that isnt expensive. |

oh nice . well i guess ill just leave the turbo alone then. yea with the injectors and the fuel pump i should be gettin around the 270 i think, then the exhaust i should be able to crack the 300 mark

you will max out the engine before you max out the turbo.
cooler + injectors + internal fuel pump, + tune will get you 270~ rwkw You will need to get a BTR auto or upgrade clutch and gbox (to a mal wood opt3+ and t56) as they WILL let go. then go a dump and hiflow cat (if you cant afford a full turbo back exhaust system) and should see the low 300s with all the above. If you dont do valve springs, it is HIGHLY unlike you will crack 270-280rwkw. Unless you do (at least) hi flow cat, it is HIGHLY unlikely you will see 300rwkw. GL on your mission and keep us posted |
