Wow, thats in such awesome, original condition. Even the cheesy analogue clock in the console, and the rust. Because as far as I remember, that was a factory option :p
Best of luck with the build, there should be more Cortinas saved from the wrecker yard.

The steering wheel is a bit worn, the rubber moves around alot, is there any way of being able to fix that?
Also, do you think fixing the rust all along the gutter there would need some professional work? or you think you can try it yourself? i've never done any panel beating/rust repair to a car before.. so its a new process for me.... |

try it yourself and see how it goes. if it doesnt workout you can always get someone to do it for ya.

Yeah, its going to be the family weekend/fun car.. so petrol is no concern... all out fuel guzzling power is what it will get eventually...
Yeap, i laughed when i saw the GPO in the engine bay... havent tried it out yet.. |

Little addition i have made, it isn't the original ford symbol.. it is quite larger but fits on there nicely.... old one was all faded..

Nice tip with the steering wheel! carefully remove tbar assembly cut a new piece of rubber and should be sweet - check out Clark rubber or similiar for a little offcut of rubber sheet same thickness. Nice Corty, mate had a wagon same colour bur the 3.3 lt thought it was a 3 spd manual due to the gearknob pattern, one day car full of yobbo's we told him to stop and put the clutch in we reached over from the back seat and bingo there was 1st gear! easiest 4 spd conversion ever! explains why it shuddered in hill starts-taking off in 2nd all the time!
