I was wondering what is the difference between the head on my au3 and the head on an xr6?
I asked someone that works for ford and they say they are the same. Sorry I just can't buy that, there has to be a difference and its driving me nuts trying to find out. Does anybody know? :? :? :?

au heads have the 41mm exhaust valves, just like a the xr6 ones.

putting on a xr6 head on all you will gain the T on the front.

i know for a fact that they are very different, bigger exhaust valves [ larger ] different inlet port and bowl above the valve is better designed for flow and differant cam depending on year and model , do some research on them the specs are out there.
cheers

All AU heads have the same sized valves, XR or not.

Does this include the EL-AU hybrid?

I've never had an EL hybrid motor apart before so I can't say one way or the other.

Well, AU mp heads are different to HP heads so there must be something that is different? the valves are the same and the cam gear but there must be some porting differences?

It appears that the XR HP and VCT heads have different length valve guides.

May I ask a noob question? What is MP & HP? I could guess high performance but not sure of the m - maybe medium?
