hi guys.
after finaly getting the 5ltr in the car and all ready to go i found the timing cover gasket was leakin. murphy aint nice cos it was basicly the only gasket i didnt change!!! there looks like there may have been a small crack in it before hand and whem i got it off it had cracked even more. there freakin expensive to buy new and just wanted some thoughts.. should i a, buy a new one (was quoted $350)? b, use some gasket sealent and seal her up or would heat just crack it more? c, get somone to weld it? its been a nightmare and i would rather not spend any more money. will put a pic of it up later so you can see the damage. any thoughts would be great. thanks japcrp

Do a search on here for links, then buy a new one from overseas for half the price. They also have corrosion issues so replacing it is a great way to reduce your down the line maintenance
your looking for a timing cover to suit the 94-95 mustang. Its unique. Except we have it as well. Dont get the KC one - Ive heard lots of things about the crank opening being off-centre. Nigel |

The KC ones are a bit hit and miss; however, Repco sold me a dud one(had alloy slag all over it from the casting process...)and ordered another in from SA(was suprisingly cleaned up when I received it...). Their service was great in sourcing a functional one and their mechanic checked it for me(they have issues with the company as well!!).
Just check the diameters of the openings and, if within specs, will be ok. I will give a big +1 for the PITA factor in changing them over - a job I dont want to do again for a loooong time!! Hooroo |

No point stuffing around with it, get a new one.
This one in particular http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/ite ... ming-Cover Make sure you get a genuine Ford front seal. Much better than the aftermarket ones.
