Hey all.
I have an Elko (Impco copy) and it has a digital light gauge next to the gas/petrol switch. I've seen a few cars share the gauge in the cluster. How can I wire my setup to use the fuel gauge in the cluster? Cheers. |

Easy provided you can get the correct range value sender for your tank. Wire a relay off the gas lockoff so you switch either the petrol or gas sender line to the cluster gauge input.

Hey mate. Where would I get the correct range value sender from? |

Any LPG installer/mechanic should be able to help you out. Crescent Motorsport in Sydney would be able to ship one down to you. (02) 9600 6229, speak to Joe.

Check the gauge in the tank first. It will most likely be 0-90 Ohms. Ideally you want the 0-176 Ohms or something like that. The 0-90 will work it just means that your fuel gauge will only show just under 3/4 when you are really full. Makes no difference really. I ran it like this for about 40,000K's. I only changed mine recently because I found that a tank I had laying around had the right sender in it.
cheers Scott

Thanks guys.
I have the current gas gauge (digital) built into the petrol/gas switch. Will I have to replace it with a different switch? Also I'm not an expert on relay's. Would I need a 5 point/wire one? As in 1 for the fuel sender/cluster, 1 for the gas sender, 1 for the gas switch???, 1 for the earth and one for the petrol sender? I'm assuming that off this diagram: http://www.fordforums.com.au/attachment ... ntid=31326 |

i would like to fit a factory Ford AU LPG switch & use that to change between LPG & Petrol.
I would like to use my cluster's fuel gauge as the gauge for both units. When switched to LPG it will show my LPG amount, when i switch it to Petrol the gauge will show how much petrol i have all on the dashboard cluster. My gas system is injection type & i am sure when i was mucking around with the ECU for the LPG system i seen somewhere that the resistance type for empty - full was 0 - 90 Ohm's. Anyone got any idea's??? |

My gas injection system, you can alter the values the gauge will read, and if I decided to wire it up, I could get it to make the dashboard fuel gauge read the correct level of LPG, but I prefer to have 2 gauges, so I know how much of each fuel I have.
Cheers ToranaGuy

my AU's dash cluster fuel gauge has a resistance value of 2 - 176 ohm's.
I know i will need to change the LPG's sender unit's gauge. I am more interested on what the electrical side of things are. Currently i have the following LPG system installed. http://www.autogasitalia.it/db/prodotto ... ng&id=2752 |
