Yes, and yes I think it's a good choice. Put all your requirements to Comp for a custom cam and see how close it gets to that cam.

The Crane HR232 is a better choice for a street driven 363ci Windsor... It will make as good top end power, with better mid range than the Comp XFI.
Here is build on the same combo you're planning using the Crane... http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread ... 393&page=2 http://www.pertheseries.com/forums/inde ... 216&st=240

G'day millard555,
As a side note - if you run a COMP grind be sure to install a composite distributor gear - COMP cams have been known to wear excessively if you run a stock hardened dissy gear. Piece of mind. |

Piece of mind. Actually you just need to run a -9 cam which is made of steel rather than the -8 cam which are austempered iron. I found this out the hard way...3 cams in 3 engines! You also need to use the zinc additive they make. Trouble with comp is they supply -8 cams unless you specify a -9 and they are useless when it comes to help with these problems. |

It won't go near 300rwkw without a very good set of heads, intake, exhaust, injectors etc... If you model this cam in Engine Analyzer software you'll find it has quite low dynamic compression, it opens the exhaust valve too early and you need to put a bunch more static comp in for it to be effective.
