hey there got an EF with an AU motor on duel fuel ,
the symptoms i am having with the particular vehicle i have a constant mis fire as if its dropped a cylinder or 2 , and at night time i can see ALL 6 leads arching out e. g sparking all over the engine bay car had its transplant about 5 months ago and have only racked up 7K km , brand new leads and plugs where put in (bosch) on petrol it is noticeably better but idles like crap im wondering whats the chance it could be a coil , motor came out of a vehicle with 170k and was running LPG |

Gapped all your plugs?
Do they look alright? On EF coil pack models having good condition leads is essential... As soon as your leads start to go high resistance they need to be changed otherwise you burn out the coil pack... If the leads are tracking I'd replace them straight up... The long you leave this, the more likely to do the coil pack you are... Sounds like the leads were a dodgy set if they aren't all that old... Check the plugs to start with though... Cheers, Tim

ok , have changed the leads made a bit of a difference , tomorrow plugs hopefully
running a S2/3 coil pack would it hurt changing the coilpack just cause ? |

usually the leads kill the coil pack...
So changing it just in case wont harm anything... Just may be an expense you're not due for yet... If you have a spare plug it in and see how you go... Now it is dark have your arcs under the bonnet stopped? Cheers, Tim

Are you sure that it is a S2/3 coil pack, they have a different plug to the EF / AU1 and if I remember rightly EF/AU1 and AU2/3 coil packs are wired differently, could be wrong? |

no you are correct, did a conversion also on the coilpack
just came back took it to a dark spot and they where still glowing but not as bad but still where in the actual leads |

Do you have another coil? If so try that.

doubt it... Would think if it played up it'd stop altogether... They are unadjustable unlike all other e series where you can adjust the timing... But this is a random guess too...
Cheers...
