Hey all, this is my xe fairmont that i picked up yesterday.... its was just going to be a replacement daily for my xr6 while im rebuilding the motor but im going to keep it now anyway when thats finished :D Its an 84 model with a rebuilt 4.1l carby six, the motor was rebuilt to take unleaded at the time aswell, it has an s pack interior and the cluster with oil, volts and tacho gauges. I dont know if the cluster is the original but it certainly dosent drive like it has done more then 400000 clicks. It has no rust as the minor rust it has had has been repaired. Power steering and cold aircon :D
Bad points are the center console is mising, to unpainted patches where rust has been fixed, the ford badge has come of the bonet but is in the glove box and the boot trim piece is mising also but i dont like it anyway. Plans are just to tidy it up a bit more, convert it to manual and put a decent exhaust on it... and maybey a clevo when i get of my p's :D But i already have my 351 XB so we will see what happens, but overall the car is fairly tidy and very straight. anyway pics :D

looks good, i dont mind the xe's as long as they have no rust and have been kept well maintained, i wouldnt mind one as a project car, id put a e series/au donk in with some mild work or a supercharger if i wasnt so poor n lazy lol
edit: just noticed your from wyong, just down the road from me, 8-)

Yea it took me a while to find one that was half decent, they al seem to be either totaly trashed with rust, unregistered or the elpovo pack version lol

Nice looking unit.
By the trim but it looks to be an S pac not a Fairmont.

The bloke i bought it of said it was a fairmont with a S pack interior.... but there are no badges on the car so i dont really know what it is, i would have thought a fairmont would have had power windows, but it does have power steer and aircon :?

Check the build plate.

JG23 is a falcon, which could mean it was an s pack

JG34 is fairmont.

Just had a look.. jg23 so falcon.... is there anyway to tell if it was an s pack besides the fact that it has the seats and cluster??

Contact 13FORD and get them to do a vehicle history check.
You will need the VIN number and they will send you a letter stating what the car is.
I would be happy a S pac is more collectable nowdays then a Fairmont.
You need to get the S pac stickers for it. They have them here http://grafixunlimited.com.au/ford/falc ... j_zk_zl/xe
about three quarters of the way down the page on the left hand side.

Will definatly do that tomoro, from what i can find online the s pack had fog lights to, this has factory foggies on it as well as the sears and dash so fingers crossed i guess lol, either way im not to fussed, i didnt buy it becoz it may have been an S pack, just becoz it has a straight rust free body runs extremely well and only cost me 1500 bucks with 9 months rego :D
