Hey fellas, Quick question
If you remove the standard 300kpa fuel reg off xr6 ed motor and replace it with a aftermarket fuel reg what should the pressure be set to? Cheers.

with no vacuum connected to the reg it should be at 300kpa, or 43.5psi..
imo there is no point using an aftermarket reg unless you cant get a std factory one.. |

Allgood, Went aftermarket as a way of getting around fuel line crimp style el fuel lines, bbm into xg ute. Xg has hose clamp lines, el has the crimp style and was going to be to much effort getting lines made up, also the bbm mani we had has a 270kpa reg and the 300kpa xg one would not go onto el bbm rail as rails are different between log and bbm, so got adaptor made for end of rail and use after market fuel reg. the lazy fix. will try the no vacumm 43psi trick cheers for that

Why no vacuum connected to reg? Set to 43psi now and makes no difference wether vacuum or not

no vacuum is what the reg reads under load/no manifold vacuum..
depending on the type of aftermarket reg it is though?? std xr6 reg is a vacuum reference reg and with no vacuum is 300kpa.. at idle with vacuum the std xr6 reg is about 220-250kpa.. by the sounds of it your aftermarket reg is a rising rate turbo boost fererence reg?, meaning that you set your idle fuel pressure and as boost rises through the hose the fuel pressure will rise with boost... so you could be in a situation where if you set your new reg at 300kpa it may be alittle to much fuel at idle but will be sweet on full throttle, if you set it at 225or 250 kpa it will be ok at idle but may not be perfect on full throttle.. if it makes no difference if it has vacuum and its at 300kpa/43psi and idles fine i would just leave it there... |

Sweet as man cheers for that, And yes its a rising rate reg. Will leave set on 43, it idles sweet, Havent taken for a fang yet as still got to wire up BBM solenoid etc. 43 Sounds safe. Be better having it set there as foot is flat on gas more than its off lol
