I just tried to call one in my area.. but a quick question... isn't that spin joint supposed to stop the engine movement from cracking the pipe? (which ironically happened to mine anyway, but in my case I drove around with a snapped engine mount for 12 months.)

Not really, there is enough flexibility in the hose part hose for it to be okay. I have had my hose in for a while now (6 months? can't remember) and haven't had any issues with leaks from the hose. As long as the bend on the hose is pointing downwards at the back of the PS pump, I don't see it being an issue.
