Hey everyone!
Just a few quick niggly questions about my xr6t. I noticed a very slight smell of coolant coming from the car after a drive, both thrashing and not, but there are no leaks and there is no coolant loss, which has got me baffled. Also, when accelerating and reversing, there is a click coming from what seems to me like the back end of the car, towards the right side. This becomes louder under harder acceleration when the car squats down. One last quick one- im about to do a service on it and was wondering what viscosity oil i should use and brand! thanks in advance, Alex

thanks guys.
The coolant smell is more outside the car, inside cant smell a thing. Are the bushes/cv's expensive job? Alex

Alex Check the coolant overflow from the header tank, it might just be dripping from there. could be the water pump? diff bushes can be dear basicly cause the rear cradle needs to be dropped out to do them, I know ford quotes 8 hrs for the job, but can be done in half of that. cv joints dunno, depends how handy you are. Get a workshop manual and have a look.

well after some digging around on the weekend discovered that it actually wasnt the bushes- its the springs in the handbrake mechanism so thats all good
Serviced her as well and discovered there was a small split in the hose coming out of the overflow tank so all fixed
