I wouldn't give up just yet, i recomend going half way. like fitting an eb-el 4lt engine and 4spd auto.. that way you get your EFI, and still get an OHC engine. There are plenty of people who do it out there, and there should be plenty of info around these pages. Even if you fit the 4lt engine and a t5 manual, and run out of money for the EFI gear, pick up an EA CFI manifold and tap some studs in there and mount up the weber carbie on it for a while..

hey all i am going back while i still can with my conversion  i have run out of money patience and time i wish i didnt have to do this but im puting it back to a 250 crossflow but adding efi =simpler and cheaper

Are you going to sell the motor?? Pick and Payless in Blacktown, here in Sydney have some EFI crossflows in falcons and fairlanes, complete with wiring and computers still in the vehicles....would make a good swap, but why go for the older stuff when you can have the relatively new engines as stated from an EL or whatever for a decent price.....my EL engine with acc' only cost me $850.00.

Engine conversions seem str8 forward, but can be very time consuming. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Cheers

:cray: FOR SALE :-(
the ute is now for sale i cant afford to finish it off
if anyone is interested then i am after $12000 although offers over 10 grand will be considered .
there are 330mm brakes on it and a set of 18"rims with new tyres nearly complete just need wiring and the final touches
car is located in queensland western downs and no it isnt affected by the floods
any more details feel free to ask but also look at this forum and note the work done on it already
i am in the process of finishing the gearbox mount and then the driveline is fully complete
the engine still needs the radiator and intercooler plumbed up
i need to get atleast 10 grand to cover my basic costs but not everything
engine, manifold, seats, intercooler, radiator, brakes, rims,ty res and turbo braided lines equal aprox 10 grand alone let alone the small things

you might get more interest if post a thread in the forsale forum with all the info and pics..

to be honest looking at the condition of the ute, being un finished, un engineered..
probably not worth to much... the running gear depending on what it actually is and how many kms are on it really depends on what your going to get for it..
