hey everyone im out to replace my rotors on my car with slotted and dimpled (didnt go drilled or cross drilled due to they are more prone to warps cracking etc as ive been told) and there main purpose is to look good and the slight break performance if any is a bonus
so here is the question dad said i should replace a bearings while im there but i forgot what one he was talking about i assumed wheel bearing and found prices on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380339949345 http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400216320457 would this be correct and is there anything else i should replace while im replacing rotors ?

I suggest you replace everything if it hasn't been done before...do it once and don't worry about it until you need to do the brakes again. Rotors, new bearings (obviously new grease...High Temp Bearing grease/brake grease or whatever they are called), new seal, brake pad and while you're down there do brake fluid...flush and bleed. It is recommended to replace pads and rotors at the same time just in case the pads have had uneven wear and wear the new rotors out unevenly.
As someone suggested, DBA rotors would be good, not RDA. Pads wise, I run Bendix Ultimate...they do well but a hell of a lot of dust...especially if you don't clean your for a few months, chrome wheels become matte black.

I didn't change the bearing on the EL when I changed to DBA slotted rotors. I took the bearing out cleaned them, inspected them, then regreased them and put them back in. They were still in the car 18 months later without a problem. But do change the pads, and don't use Bendix General CTs with slotted rotors

sorry for my slow reply have been sick all day
wow thanks fellas very nice info i have just recently replaced my pads with bendix general CT about 2000-3000k's ago at the front but the rears i havent touched but i did go real hard on them once from 160 to complete stop to test em (on a track of course) and they done alright slightly above average but not really that impressed ill try EBC green stuff as ive heard its good and everyone seems to be saying its good on the slotted rotors ive got RDA rotors but i dont go hard on the brakes and i spend most of my time gliding before breaking for fuel eco reasons
