Hi all, my BF gas Falcon ute, which runs really well (750 K's out of a standard 90 L tank) has a problem with the aircon, regardless of what position the temperature knob is on it blows cold air.
The aircon itself seems fine and gets very cold very quickly, it's just the hot air is not working.
I took it to Ford and because the warranty has only just run out a couple of months ago they want to charge me $132.00 an hour for heaven knows how many hours just to look at it.
I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction to getting this fixed without it costing me an arm and a leg. Could it be somethong simple like a fuse, any help would be much appreciated.

either heaterbox or the flap that divides the cool air from the hot air isn't working.
either way to replace it your self it can be done but make sure you have a weekend to do it, their both located behind the dash and are an absolute b**ch to get to

not to sure, ive only heard of one similar case to my mates falcon, and he fixed it himself. i know that labor would be pretty expensive as the dash needs to be removed to get to the heater box.

Could be your blend motor or heater tap. Blend motor is a dash out job I'm pretty sure. Can you hear the blend motor working when you turn it from hot to cold?

No, there does not seem to be any sound at all, so I suppose the blend motor is not working.
The vehicle has only done 75 thousand K's you would think Ford would help out if it is the blend motor failing.

I would talk to a few auto electricians and get a few quotes. And never go for the cheapest one.

Sounds like the Heater shaft that goes in the heater case, common fault.
The shaft you can buy new and is modified BA 19K752 AKT $53.85 and in case one of the flaps is damaged BA 19D842 A $40.65. It could also be the HIM module which is BG 19H616 A $638.45.

It is a big job and requires removal of the dash to get at the heater box where the shaft is located, Takes about 2 hours.

Thanks for the heads up, sound like the HIM Module to me, all the flaps seem to be working, I can hear them moving around.
