Hi guys,

I have an ED XR6 that I purchased recently, the car is heavily modified and has a 2 speed power glide gearbox (some of you may have seen this on unique carsales)

anyway the speedo isnt working, previous owner said he put a speedo gear in the box from rare spares although after a few months it wore the teeth out.

i would like to get the speedo working and was wondering if anyone has any knowledge on getting a speedo to work correctly on this box?

thanks,
Mo

unless you have a mechanical aftermarket speedo you will need to fit an electronic sensor.
ie. something like: http://www.romdas.com/technical/install/inst-odo.htm
there may be something more specific to a powerglide though.

Once youve done that you might need a speedo corrector to get the pulses count back to normal....

Thanks for your help guys, i will look into this a little more i think as its more serious than i initially thought.

Jarrod- the car has a T4 turbo with rebuilt bottom and top end, was running 25psi and pulled 530hp, currently running 12.5psi with smaller injectors, not running right though, want to put bigger injectors back in and tune it properly at 25psi again.
