OK Guys, got a quick question, the 5.0 has not been playing nice recently, blew another BEM with the lights, and at the same time the oil pressure guage has started playing up. Oh yea notice the name change, Have got hold of some territory TS badges and made the terrorist ghia badge lol

What happens is that the guage sits about halfway up when first started, then after about 5 mins the pressure bleeds away til the low warning light and alarm comes on. The oil is less that 3000k old. I use penrite HPR30, 182000k on the motor. The funny thing is that if you turn the car off for even 3 secs, then retsart, pressure comes back to normal. Any thoughts would be muchly appreciated. Then the pressure bleeds off again.
Brett

could be a bad earth... i was having dramas with my oil pressure gauge on the au and the ford fix was to add an extra earth to the alt and to the engine block

could also be the oil pump... or the pump drive.
befire u do that i suggest a mechanical gauge be put on the car and comapred to the gauge in the car
