You may have to go for two smaller tanks, 60 litres or so, they may well fit lengthways behind the diff, side by side. Or, try and get a couple of the donut tanks they use in the sapre tyre location in wagons and sedans. Surely you could hide two or more of those in and under the floor panels.
My stepdad has a 120l tank in the back of his chev truck, and it is HUGE. Why do you want the extra capacity - long range?

Garts I have a xg and it supposedly has a 90ltr. tank in the wheel well i get about 70 odd litres in it when run dry. Giving me approx. 450k towing on hwy not great but i'm happy. i'm sure you would be happy with it there rather than in the tray. Much neater install.

well im getting a straight gas system and i want decent range out of it, im hopeing for about 600kms or more, i dont wanna get caught running out of gas unexpectedly!!!!!!
yeah i reckon a main tank under the back would be the way to go, with a smaller tank under the floor panels, can you have the two tanks eaquilized????? , so they get used at the same rate and filled through the one outlet , that would be best . thanks guys |

don't know anything about the duel tank bit but if you are going straight gas the extra tank would replace the petrol tank i'm sure i've heard of this being done before.by the way i'm talking towing 800 kg and 3- 400 in tray throuogh quite hilly country and pushig it a bit so 600 would not be out of the question unladen and being tuned to gas only out of 90ltr. tank.i did't mention this is a factory fitted system in 1994 and no doubt in 15 yrs things must have improved good luck

Just remember if you go straight Gas you could get stuck in the country, i did on the way back from Townsville all it took was for a truck to wipe the LPG pumps out at Camilla and I never had enough LPG to make it from Mackay to Rockhampton at night. better if your car has duel fuel to keep it that way unless your always going to keep it in the city wheres theirs heaps of LPG pumps?

yes you can equalise two gas tanks, i cant remember exactly how it was done but we had two 70 or 80ltr tanks on our old dodge tray with one filler, the system looked almost as old as the truck but any lpg fitter should know how its done.

^^^^^Ute or van ?? - van's can have a larger tank.
APA list an A86 or F95FU - around 68L usuable. In all cases I think the tailpipe needs modding - IIRC a straight through pipe without the resonator.

Have you considered AU-BF wagon Egas tanks? they are 2 smaller tanks joined together, with a total of 116lts of LPG

They did have to modify the exhaust a little but it's got a 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust, High flow cat and pacemaker 4480 competition headers now, that was pretty easy to fit. |
