Hey guys

Recently I installed a 3 core all metal radiator and new clutch fan, and removed the thermo stat.

However the clutch fan is very noisy almost sounds like an EA 6 cylinder, the temperate sits very low after 2 hours of driving on the free way sits just over dead cold. the clutch fan is quite on idle but once you give it any sort of revs it over powers the sound of the engine and I miss that V8 sound.

Is there a reason why it is so loud, the old one never used to make any sort of noise.

any help would be appreciated.

Its most likely because you pulled the thermostat!

The clutch fans activate with heat coming through the radiator, and engage more when theres more heat.

If youve removed the thermostat then there isnt any time when the radiator will cool down, or have time to cool the water. So it will be noisier.

You might also find that the old clutch was just stuffed, and wasnt engaging properly

yes the old fan was stuffed, it wasn't my idea to remove it. My mate who is a mechanic said it was useless and might as well remove it.

I will put one in and hope that sorts it, thanks.
