lol when i say rocker gear i mean the whole thing that holds the cam down (so when you take the rocker cover off everthing there) goes in the au head the whole running gear.

Dont know mate people say it can be done.

yes it can be done, but not just by swapping shims and HLAs.
You need the complete rocker assembly

A little Bird told me if you use a el rocker gear or swap the el shims and pushers into the au rocker gear it will work.
as i said the complete rocker gear

As I said, just swaping the shims and HLAs won't work.

dont bother explaining it to him youv done it enough, if he wants to go and try it against the information youve given him let him f**k it up lol

and the question wasnt how to fit an el cam in an au head it was will the j3 fit in an au computer needing to be re formated or not doesnt matter.but thanks everyone for the information.
