There is a very very good engine builder in Burliegh heads. Big dog garage. He will build you a very tuff stroker but his policy is open chequebook unless you have what he would consider a sensible budget.
I have seen one of his 351 clevlands do 1 million kms and only just recently replaced 1 pushrod. (caused by over reving) He thinks it will go for at least another 250 thousand.

Lol, professional engine builders won't outlay their own money for a $10k ~ $15k build so definitely be prepared to drop a large quantity of cash in his hands before he'll start, whomever you choose.

for 12K you should have a 363ci dart motor with at least 550hp.
sell your top end and buy the rest. i wouldnt bother spending 12K on a stock block.

Here's one complete built for boost..
But would be tuff as hell !!! http://www.theturboforums.com/smf/index ... c=148445.0 I've seen way more than this spent on stroker engines.. Even allowing $1k freight plus duty .. It's a top deal..

{USERNAME} wrote: Can you do any of the work yourself, i.e. - remove and refit the engine? That'll save you a bit. How much of a rush are you in to get it done? You can get a "builders kit" from fordstrokers.com in the US for around US$1800. This kit contains machined block, balanced rotating assembly and everything else you need to build the short block. I think air freight is around $800 and sea freight is about $400. The only thing is, he's backed up by about 10 weeks. I wish I went that route, because my machining and balancing bill came up to over $2k. Because you have pretty much everything done to suit the stroker, I reckon you'll be able to get it done locally for $12,000. You'll need a rotating assembly. Cast will be fine in a stock block, so an entry level Scat or Eagle kit will be ok. Machining and balancing, new flywheel, new balancer, bearings, gaskets and assorted bits and bobs. You'll probably need a new cam and possibly new pushrods as well. What size injectors do you currently have? They may need to be upgraded, as well. Then you'll need to spend money on a retune. I'm assuming you already have a tune in it with your current motor. Your exhaust will be fine, as will the fuel system. The only thing you may have a problem with afterwards is your gearbox , if you're running a T5. Damn you Scaffy! Im going to have to start thinking seriously about one of these 347 kits for the Mav now. Damn good buying! Wonder how it would go with the GT40P's? Looking for a very torquey motor that has a bit of snap.

would the std explorer manifold (ported) be ok for a 347 stroker?
This would be with ported GT40X heads and a decent cam and exhaust |

Hey, I have a stroker kit in this EL i just bought, Ive had to replace the head gaskets, but I have no idea what the base timing was set to.
I have set it to 30º BTC like it states in the manual, but that would be for a standard 302, where should it be set for optimum performace with my 347?

Base timing will be required to be set to 30* in diagnostic mode, no matter what the displacement.
