wasnt somebody complaining that they kept busting their diff on here recently and he was running the early pintara/skyline diff gears and someone can correct me if im wrong but there were people writing on there that his problem was that he was running pintara gears which were weaker and the power and thrashing was fudging them, if i find it ill post up the link

cheers mate, if you find it let me know. but the car is very much so standard other than exhaust, extractors and cam. although i do not know how much power a pintara has so it could be different.

well thrashing the car isnt the brightest idea for keeping the diff gears in good nick

i had ebay 4.11's in my old car, and only had a slight whine which is to be expected for used gears. Their still going well for the current owner. If you dont do burnouts continually theres no reason why the gears wont last for the life of the car

yea i remember that thread.
It think it was found too that he was putting pintara gears into a ford diff and the gear mesh wasnt set correctly so the teethh of the gears wer only at half depth. wich would result in any diff failing.
