got a problem with my 95 ef futura (xr6 engine). so occasionally my idle would get stuck at about 2500-3000 rpm while stopped at the lights. I put it in for a service today and the mechanic cleaned out the throttle body, only to discover it now does it every time you depress the clutch. he swapped the idle solanoid for another but it still had the same problem. really can't afford this right now so any ideas guys? please help

as it is running disconnect the ics on top of the throttle body, if it drops straight away then it is playing up, if not have a look at the base idle screw it could be screwed in to much ,but if none of them work have a look for a air leak

make sure the throttle and cruise cables are not binding..

also make sure the throttle plate is not be held open in another way...check for free movement of the throttle plate..

could also be the isc/ ics control..

disconnect the isc and adjust your idle to around 5-600 rpm then reconnnect isc...check tps voltage is still below 1v...if not adjust..

alternately you could set your idle to around 8-900 rpm and just leave the isc permenantly disconnected...
