Ok have an issue for my EL wagon locking system, the rear tailgate electrics keeps going by itself and will only stop when the fuse is pulled and the central locking system is not working, ive pulled out the unit and its all ok but a circuit test shows its constantly getting power ?
Ive also unplugged the tailgate lock and again the whole locking system is not working, any help or ideas much appreciated. ( ive also done the reset thing with the ignition and demister button process ) Tony

check the power supply from the B.E.M., I'd say more than likely its getting a faulty resistor reading causing it to act. Def the cause of the central locking not working either.
Have you tries actually locking the tailgate mechanism with a manually with the tailgate up? |

No luck with that , just keeps on clunking away till you pull the fuse.

Disconnect and reconnect battery. Maybe lock actuator is sticky and continuously trying to finish cycle. Also check where wiring gies in through top of tailgate that the loom hasn't been pinched and picking up a live feed from a number Plate light or something stupid like that

Tailgate release in EA-ED wagons via button, but incorporated with doors in EF/EL wagons.
ford-interior-f14/ef-el-central-locking-actuators-t85718.html ford-interior-f14/el-lock-actuators-t98024.html Without knowing what you've tested/not tested, either by keyfob or key (you need to completely detail all of this, so we don't spend pages trying to guess all of this), I'll guess dancing actuators. Both front doors and tailgate are master actuators.

I have said this before, and it may be relevant for this. In the passenger "B" pillar, down the bottom, there is a connector, some of which are the door actuator wires. This "B" pillar tends to leak, and the connector corrodes, causing a short. It is a b**ch to get to, as it has a lot of filler foam around it, but it may be worth checking out. It solved my actuator problems, which were very similar to what you are experiencing
