I recently started a new job which has me doing a lot of night driving and have noticed that my headlights are p*ss weak compared to other vehicles.

I have noticed there are halogen kits for older cars like mine, and offer varying amounts of brightness such as 50%/90%/100% extra light, and other things such as blue bulbs.
While I would like the brightest lights possible I don't want to be blinding other drivers or getting pulled over by the cops.

Any suggestions for what headlights I should get? I've also considered LED lights, but no idea how good they actually are. I want substance over style.
