have you tried to adjust a handbrake on a BA/BF? if the shoes are a little worn or the inside of the discs they either don't work or they drag and make a squeaking noise.

also if the recall hasn't been done the rear brake hose will have 2 coloured rings. if it has been done. it'll have 3

yea. also on the new ones they have a metal spring on the outside of the rubber. the old ones did not.

like wildeb said, adjusting AU-BA handbrake is a pita, sort of have to adjust the shoes so they "just" touch the inside of the rotor so that they engage with 7 clicks, also making sure they dont make a constant squeek when driving

i found when mine were adjusted to work within a few clicks its was good for a few days then made constant noise, i gave up and got sick of adjusting them so i fitted new shoes and adjusted them so the handbrake engages after 11-13 clicks........... at least theyre quiet now !!!!
