Hi, I'm posting this for a friend, he recently followed the technical document on this site to change the EL clock to the EL trip computer. He followed the instructions to a tee however now when he turns his headlights on, the light that illuminates the odometer goes out. All the other dash lights are ok, it's only the odometer light. When he turns the headlights off, the odometer light comes back on. He has tried different globes etc and all the wiring has been triple checked.
Does anyone know what might be causing this? He has a EL Futura. Thanks! |

Does the new trip computer LCD 'dim' when he turns on the parkers?

Yes all the lights dim, however the odometer light just goes out. It's also worth noting that he has put a Fairmont dash cluster in the car too. I don't know if this would have anything to do with it.

Doesn't make any difference, the light still stays out regardless of whether the lights are bright or dim.
