Not for the purpose you want. They are brighter, but wont fit. Also you don't want the cluster to be insanely bright while driving at night, you can't dim LED's like you can ordinary globes. Just stick with the t5's in the link you posted.
I use SMD's for the park (T10) and interior (front and rear foot-well (T10) and overhead dome (41mm festoon)) lights, car lights up like a Christmas tree when I unlock the doors.

hey when you do paint the dash cluster and put new lights in is there anything you have to unplug on the rest of the dash?

The only things you will need to unplug are the 2 connections when you remove the cluster from the dash. The globes you will see on the back of the cluster and to paint the surround you will need to undo the 2 silver screws on the very top of the cluster assembly and VERY (as they can snap quite easily) carefully lift the plastic clips enough to take the black 'hood' thingy off the front of it. The surround pretty much just sits there, you will however have to take care removing the black warning light sections out.
