Not quite straight foreward.

By disconnecting the tie rod ends of the steering rack it made no difference even moving the rack port to starboard and vice versa.

Bolts are large and will only travel so far until it hits the steering rack.

It looks like I'll have to somehow undo the bolts or nuts holding the steering rack and prying it away from the cross member enough so I can remove the bolts.

What a pain of a job but at least it saves me forking out hard earned dollars.
