Hey, does anyone know what the "RED EXCLAMATION MARK IN A RED CIRCLE" in both dashes mean as they both crank but won't start and this symbol is glowing. Ford said it was the brake master cylinder. Would that be why it won't start ???

it is the brake fail indicator yes...
So they wont start? You have checked spark? You have checked fuel pressure and volume? You have checked compression? You have gapped plugs? The dizzy on the EL is timed correctly? TFI on the EL functions correctly? You can pull codes from the EL easy enough... Checked codes to see if any sensors are out of range? Not so sure about the AU... If you tell us what you have checked already we can tell you where to look next... Cheers, Tim

I am selling the car with a suspected blown head gasket and it started every time for people to see. When they come round I started it first pop then when they leave I disconnect the battery and so on. Been doing that for a few months now. So I let it sit for the last 3 weeks without the battery and now it won't start. Cranks over fine but just won't start. I will check the brake sensor and do your checklist this weekend. Will disconnecting the brake sensor work. Thanks.

Basically it is a pointless thing... By the time the lamp came on you'd be well aware it had no brakes...
AFAIK the brake failure lamp has no effect over anything on the car... Could it be fuel evaporation or dirty fuel if it has been sitting for ages? Fuel has gone "off"? Cheers, Tim
