Hi guys and girls,
I am in the middle of installing a trans cooler on my EB series 2. I have mounted the cooler and now I just need to hook up the hoses. My question is: Does it matter if the fluid goes through the cooler before or after going through the radiator? Also I assume that the cooler pipe right behind the torque converter is the pressure line and the other is the return. Is this correct? Thanks, Evan.

if you still have the factory lines, the top line into the radiator is the one that goes to the external cooler, then from the cooler back to the radiator..
otherwise yes you can bypass the radiator and run the external cooler by its self, but the external cooler will need to be atleast 250mmx280mm.. anything to small wont cool the trans enough by itself.. |

Sweet, thanks guys.
I thought that when I went to the wreckers to pick up some extra fittings, I would be able to see how it goes. But, every car I looked at (no joke, every falcon had a trans cooler!) had it a different way. So I was none-the-wiser. I will fit it up this weekend.

IMHO it really doesn't matter. I have plumbed them any which way, as long as the oil goes thru' the external cooler. I have usually taken the top pipe tho' 'cos it is easier to get to

i prefer the 2nd method bypassing the radiator......... with this way you run the supply line to the top of the transmission cooler. This help cool and distribute the oil evenly |

Ok, I ended up connecting it up the way TROYMAN suggested. Simply because it was the easiest way. See here.
Thank you all for your help. Thanks, Evan.
