Hey guys,
Gonna be doing this replacement this weekend. Ive done the dash before so thats not an issue, what I need to know is if there is anything special that I need to know when taking apart/rebuilding the box? Im assuming that some sort of silicon type adhesive will be required to press the box back together after the core is replaced? If anyone could shed some light on this I would appreciate it very much. This car is my daily so if I get stuck needing something ill be in big trouble. Cheers |

hahaha i just put mine back together in my el just afew hours ago.the box is the easiest part i didnt even silicon mine back together didnt really see a point in doing it.just pull off the dash then the screws from the inside of the engine bay (firewall) disconnect heater hoses and aircon hoses and thats pretty much the hard part.took me afew days bcos i didnt have a clue what i was doing when taking the dash out of the car so that took me a while but the heater box is simple.take off all the screws, split the box in half take out the heater core and just change it with the other one.theats the simplest part hahaha good luck with it.

wow great to hear, was worried the box would be all complicated!
How hard are the supporting screws to get too? I hate working on stuff near the firewall, i.e starter motor. |

umm just have a short 11mm or deep (long) 11mm socket with swivel and extension..box is very easy to work out what ever you pull off just put back on.if you have a heater core handy you can pull the heaterbox apart and put it back together within 20-30minutes.
