how do you remove the airbag horn pad without damage i have a picture of the pad i need to change the cruise control buttons it is a ef2 6cyl

EA-ED just pulls off
EF-EL has two bungs in the sides of wheel with special 5 pointed security torx type bolts BA-BF has two std 6 pointed security torx bolts in the back of the wheel which are captive... Turn the wheel to 90 degrees to see them under or over the column shrouds FG has pin prick sized hole in the bottom... Insert a flat blade screw driver that fits with the blade facing front to back and push the clip inside up and airbag releases... Cheers, Tim

That nearly has to be a had doesn't it? While I'd still hate to find out the hard way... All airbags have shorting pins... Like current transformers the two pins are shorted together before they actually disconnect from the pins on the clock spring plug... This ensures as you are unplugging it no static can cause a detonation... As I said a current transformer works the same, if you disconnect the meter from the transformer with current still in the primary they will explode... Most have accidental shorting links... Some have manual ones... Where all airbags in Falcons I've seen have shorting links... Cheers, Tim
