ba_xr6bw wrote: ok cheers for ur advice. Still anyone who knows about a CV (uni joint) info plz.. (never get aftermarket parts unless its exterior, like bumpers n stuff) CV is not a uni joint. Check bolt's are torqued up before jumping to conclusions. It wouldn't be the first time a mechanic has made a mistake.

So they replaced the centre UJ and the rear CVJ. Did they fit the front and rear in the original phase? Was the driveshaft re-balanced? Was there a system balance performed after the driveshaft was fitted to vehicle?

They probably just removed the old and put in the new without balancing anything. Once they are out of balane you will have issues. Take it back to them. 67RCE wrote: ba_xr6bw wrote: stop stalking my threads if u dont wana hear the truth. It's alright, they all do that. It's a speed limiting device. ok please explain, are u saying all ford's vibrate due to the stock speed limiting device or what? No. Ford's line will more than likely be: It's within tolerance, they all do that. The speed limiting device was a joke as you don't want to go faster than where it starts to shake. In all honesty, check the basics, all bolts tensioned correctly? Wheel balance is where I would look. I . I see sarcasm/jokes are getting harder to be distinguished!

So does any one know about universal joints or birfield joints that could possibly make my car vibrate at high speeds?

hey ba_xr6bw I have the same probs as you have! My car does a clunking sound when I take off and it sounds like its from the suspension or drive shaft. Plus my car shakes as well at higher speeds. But tell you the truth since i put the Kings springs SL's on this past saturday havent really noticed any of it and the steering wheel barely shakes now before it would shake a fair bit and no clunking sound any more or atleast I havent noticed it since then.

They replaced the universal joint which is in the drive shaft, perhaps it just needs another balance

I would tend to agree with Joolz. I has this happen to a Supra I had the Uni and centre bearing replaced on. Would get to 60kmh and start vibrating. Turns out the mechanic when bolting the 2 shaft together had 1 rotated 180 degrees out of phase to its mate. All he did was un bolt it rotate the shaft 180 and bolt it back again. Vibration gone. If that doent fix the problem i would assume the Uni is out of balance or has not been fitted correctly to the shaft and may be running out. Good luck anyway

Have you checked everything is tight yet? Tailshaft bolts need to be exceptionally tight, and if they aren't, cause harmonic vibrations through the driveline.
