the spanner means that it due for a service, not to sure how to get rid of it though your mechanic can tell you over the phone or even give ford a call

When I tried to do the odometer diagnostic thing in my EL, I managed to remove the spanner. I'm assuming the trick to spanner removal is something as stupidly simple as "hold tripometer button, turn ignition on", but I could be wrong. And I have no clue about AUs.

So there.

If you look in your manual it will tell you how to turn it off, I did it will mine. It comes on when the vehicle is due for its regular service.

service spanner comes on every 10000kms
hold the odo button in untill it turns off!
and on the Au it will only turn off after it has gone to ford!

I did in my EF too.
Hold odo button for 10sec or more turn ignition on and keep holding the button untill you hear beep and you're done.
Not sure if that works in AU?
