What kind of money am i looking for a pearl overspray, it shouldn't be that much should it. you only have to take the top layer off the paintwork.

u mean u want to add a pearl to the existing paintwork?

if so the pearl is in the clear coat so a new clear would have to be added which would require the removal of teh old clear

u dont have to run back all the clear, just scuff it up so its all dull, with 800 wet and dry, will look s**t thought if theres heaps of stone chips or scratches cause they will show back through.

Whats sort of pearl are you going for? How heavy are you planning on painting it? if your paintwork is in good condition then it might come out alright. If you have stonechips i would be guessing most of them are on the front bar and bonnet you could get them repainted first then go with the pearl and it should come up alright. Could look good mate, that green is a nice base to start on.
